For many of us, unhealed hurts fuel the cycle of compulsive overeating. Step Four helps us shine a light on those burdens and finally begin to let them go.

“Step Four is important to unlocking the secrets to who you are and why you eat. We found that after completing this step, we had contributed to our own resentments and misery. Step Four gave us the background information and tools to break the cycle of compulsive eating.”

— Julie Kleinhans, 12 Steps to Recovery from Overeating

Taking an honest inventory of our resentments, fears, and past hurts isn’t easy—but it’s one of the most loving things we can do for ourselves. Resentments fester when left unchecked, fueling the cycle of compulsive overeating. But when we name them, surrender them to Christ, and begin the work of forgiveness, we unlock freedom.

You don’t have to eat over your emotions anymore. With God’s help, you can heal, let go, and live in peace.

I share my personal journey and a Christ-centered approach to each of the 12 steps in my book, 12 Steps to Recovery from Overeating. If you’re ready to dig deeper, you can get your copy today on Amazon: https://a.co/d/b59l7hh.
