Remembering Why Jesus Went to the Cross

Thorn crown and cross on a purple background with "Good Friday" text and Romans 5:6 verse. somber mood.

Today is Good Friday.

The day we remember that Jesus willingly went to the cross…

and chose death so that we could truly live.

He didn’t wait for us to fix ourselves first.

He didn’t ask us to try harder.

He met us in our brokenness.

“For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.”

—Romans 5:6

For so many years, I thought I needed to “get it together” first—

to fix my eating, my habits, my life.

But that’s not the message of the cross.

The cross reminds us that:

We are not saved by our effort…

We are saved by His grace.

And that same grace is what helps us begin again—

even in the middle of our struggles.

Whatever you’re facing today, you don’t have to carry it alone.

Because of what Jesus did on the cross…

there is hope.

There is forgiveness.

There is a new way forward.
