Step 7. We ask God to remove our shortcomings because Acts 3:19 says, "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord," and Acts 3:26 says, "When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways." Recognizing that we are all saved by grace, God calls us to turn from our sin. We will never do this perfectly here on this earth (which is why God sent His Son to redeem us), but we continue to strive to turn from our sin. God blesses us when we do.
