Waiting Doesn’t Mean God Is Silent

King David wearing a crown sits thoughtfully in a cave with others. Text: "WAITING ON GOD," and a Bible quote. Mood is contemplative.

During our prayer meeting this week, one of our members shared a reminder that stayed with me.

David was anointed king… and then waited.

For years.

He hid in caves.

He ran for his life.

He cried out to God again and again.

Yet David didn’t force God’s timing. He didn’t take shortcuts—even when he had the chance. He waited, trusted, and kept turning to God for strength.

Waiting seasons are hard—especially when we’re praying for change, healing, or freedom.

That’s true in recovery, too.

We often want quick relief from cravings, quick change in our bodies, or instant peace around food.

But waiting doesn’t mean God has forgotten you.

Sometimes waiting is where God does His deepest work— strengthening trust, building endurance, and teaching us to depend on Him instead of food.

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” (Psalm 27:14)

If you’re in a season of waiting today, you’re not behind. You’re being shaped.
