A Small Victory - Deciding Not to Eat the Chips

Tonight was a small victory.
Dinner came with a basket of chips.
Tony ate a few. I didn't eat any.
Do I feel a little deprived? Maybe.
But here's what I also feel...
My stomach doesn't hurt.
I don't feel guilty.
And I feel good about the choice I made.
Freedom doesn't mean never wanting my binge foods. It means being able to choose what I want most over what I want in the moment.
I want to be healthy and feel my best. Before I even walked into the restaurant, I had already made my decision and committed it to the Lord.
Tony doesn't struggle with food the way I do, so I don't compare my choices to his. My recovery is my responsibility.
One basket of chips may not have changed my life.
But one good decision strengthens the next one.
Recovery is built one meal, one choice, and one day at a time.
"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." — Philippians 4:13 (NIV)
