Is giving up sugar really worth it?


 Many people hesitate to start recovery because the idea of never eating dessert again feels overwhelming. But here’s the truth: moderation doesn’t work.


It doesn’t work for the alcoholic, and it doesn’t work for those of us who can’t stop once we start with sugar and today’s highly processed, addictive foods. One bite often leads to a binge — and the cycle of regret starts all over again.


That’s why recovery isn’t about giving something up — it’s about gaining something better. For me, it was one day at a time. And after just a few weeks, the difference was undeniable:
