More Willpower Didn’t Stop My Overeating

I struggled with my weight from about age 10. For years, I thought my problem was that I just needed more willpower. I didn’t understand why I ate too much.
I knew what I was supposed to eat. I knew when I was eating too much. I would tell myself, “Tomorrow I’ll do better.”
And sometimes I did.
But eventually the cravings, stress, or emotions would take over again, and I’d find myself right back where I started.
What I didn’t understand then was that there were things keeping me stuck that willpower alone wasn’t going to fix.
Once I began to understand what was really going on, recovery started to look very different.
That’s one of the reasons Tony and I started Reshape and Recover—and why I’m teaching a free webinar next Monday (9/21/26) called “3 Obstacles That Keep You Stuck in Overeating.”
If you’ve ever wondered, “Why do I keep doing this when I know better?” I hope you’ll join me.
