Saturday Step: Step Five

Step Five is about acknowledging the difficulties we have faced in life that have led to the course of action we have taken, and knowing that we are forgiven. Once we have released all our baggage, we feel so much more free and can move on towards healing and life change. Taking this step with another trusted human being brings you closer than you would expect, and closer to God too. The healing from past hurts and recovery from overeating deepens here. James 5:16 says, "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."
