Sunday Devotion

Open Bible and cup of tea on wooden table in warm light. Text reads: "Psalm 119:105 'Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.'"

“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” Proverbs 12:25 (NIV)

This truth from God through Solomon reminds us that we all have anxiety and have the ability to help others with kind words.

In recovery groups, this is especially helpful. We understand the tendency for us to go to food when we are anxious. Our support groups are a great place to give and receive kind words and encouragement.

Let’s remember to build each other up today and every day!

Dear Lord, thank You that You have given me supportive people to help me when I am anxious or feeling down. Help me remember to life others up too with my words and be a blessing to them. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
