Ephesians 2:8-10 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
What an amazing gift we have been given by God! Not only has he given us saving faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, but he has given us our talents and strengths to do good works to bless others. We are told these gifts are from God, not anything we have done on our own power. These gifts are from God, and not because we have earned them in any way. We ask God to give us the courage and boldness we need to help us use our gifts to further His Kingdom. In doing His will, we bless God and others, and the blessings come back to us as well.
Dear Lord, Thank you that by your grace you have saved us. We could not do it without your saving love and free gift. Help us to have the courage and strength to carry out the good works you have prepared for us to do. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
