Sunday Devotion

Open Bible with "Psalm 119:105" text on a wooden table, next to a cross-embossed book and a cup of tea. Sunlight creates a warm ambiance.

Matthew 9:36-38 (ESV) When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

It’s so awesome that Jesus has compassion on us. He knows we are harassed and helpless and sends us the help we need. He also sends us out to help others.

This passage reminds me not to worry about my own needs, but to help others. We will be blessed when we do.

Dear Lord, thank You that You love us and send us help. Equip me to help others and give them the same love You give us. Bless all those who do Your work in Your name. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
