Trusting God: The Bridge to Recovery

Writer: Julie KleinhansJulie Kleinhans

What Step Three Really Means

Step Three isn’t just a concept—it’s an action. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.

This step changed everything for me. It’s easy to say we trust God, but do we really? Do we surrender our cravings, our struggles, our repeated failures to Him? Or do we keep one foot in our own way of doing things?

For me, it looked like this:

✅ Trusting Him even when I didn’t see results overnight

✅ Letting go of diets and plans that promised quick fixes but never worked

✅ Surrendering my food struggles daily and asking for His strength

Surrender isn’t a one-time decision—it’s a daily practice. But when we truly let God lead, we stop battling food the way we used to.

Have you taken this step in your recovery? What has it looked like for you?
