When You Feel Weak

Clasped hands over an open Bible with text, Where do you turn when you feel weak? 2 Corinthians 12:9, on a dark blue background.

Do you ever feel like you should be stronger by now?

Maybe you’ve been working on your eating for a long time, but you still have cravings. You still get tempted to turn to food when you’re stressed, lonely, tired, or upset.

And sometimes you may wonder, Why am I still struggling with this?

Paul wrote about a weakness he desperately wanted God to take away. Instead, God told him:

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Weakness isn't always a bad thing.

It can be the very thing that reminds us how much we need Him.

When the urge to eat hits, we don’t have to pretend we’re strong enough to handle everything ourselves. We can stop and pray:

Lord, I’m struggling right now. I need Your help more than I need this food.

Recovery doesn’t mean we never feel weak.

It means we’re learning where to turn when we do.
