Progress in Recovery, Not Perfection

A person plans in a journal labeled "BEGIN AGAIN" beside a cup and fruit. Text reads: Progress, not perfection. Quote: Proverbs 24:16.

There’s a moment in recovery when many people quietly disengage.

It sounds like:

“I was doing so well… and then I messed up.”

Maybe it was:

• A stressful week

• A missed meeting

• A weekend of emotional eating

• A return to an old habit

And suddenly it feels like all your progress is gone.

So instead of beginning again…

you stop trying.

Not because you don’t care.

But because starting over feels exhausting —

especially when life is already busy.

But sustainable change rarely happens in a straight line.

Sometimes progress looks like:

✔ Choosing one balanced meal today

✔ Reaching out for support instead of isolating

✔ Returning after a difficult week instead of giving up entirely

Consistency matters more than perfection.

Health isn’t built on flawless days.

It’s built on the decision to begin again.
