Progress, not perfection — God’s still working

Embracing Growth: Replacing 'Perfect' with 'Progress' on the Path to Transformation.

One of our members once shared something that really stayed with me.

She said, “I told myself I’d just have one piece of cake… but that one piece led to days of overeating sugar. I finally realized the one piece was never just one piece.”

That kind of awareness is progress.

It’s the moment God opens our eyes to see the pattern — not to shame us, but to help us turn to Him sooner next time.

Recovery isn’t about perfection. Some days you’ll feel strong; other days you’ll recognize afterward that you slipped. But even that recognition is growth, because it means you’re paying attention and letting God reshape your thinking.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Keep walking, keep trusting, and keep surrendering. God’s not done with your story yet.
