Sunday Devotion: 1 John 5:14-15

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15 (NIV)

What a comfort it is to know that when we come to God in prayer, He hears us. We can bring our recovery, our food choices, and our plans for the day before Him, trusting Him to guide us toward what is good and in accordance with His will.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You that I can ask for anything according to Your will and that I will receive it today. I’m asking for a new mind that is aligned for healthy living, eating, and exercising today. I ask that You help me to know how to plan for what I eat today. I ask for both a healthy food plan and action plan today so that I can eat well and live well. I ask that I can carry out both plans so that I can nourish and energize my body for the good things that you have in store for me today. Amen.
