Sunday Devotion

Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

Praying sometimes comes easily, and sometimes not so easily. We start with praise to God as Jesus taught us “Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.” We then ask God to help us throughout the day, to resist temptation and evil, and to be in our every thought, word, and action. Sometimes, though, our pain is so intense that we just can’t think. That’s okay! God knows our heart and the Holy Spirit intercedes (or pleads/asks) on our behalf. Our Heavenly Father knows what we need and wants the best for us. Pray – even if you don’t know what to pray – and God will be there for you.

Dear God, Thank you that your Holy Spirit helps me in my weakness. We do not always know how to pray fervently or with pinpoint accuracy without your Holy Spirit leading and guiding us. Thank you, dear Lord, that we can trust you with our thoughts and prayers, and that we have hope for a blessed and hopeful day and future with you always. Amen.
