Sunday Devotion: Psalm 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
— Psalm 46:1 (NIV)
Some days we feel strong in our recovery. Other days, the desire to eat outside our plan can feel much stronger than we expected. Psalm 46 reminds us that we don't have to face those moments relying only on our own strength.
God is not far away when we're struggling. He is “ever-present.” We can stop—even for just a moment—and turn to Him before we turn to food. We can tell Him exactly what we're feeling and ask Him to give us the strength to make the next right choice.
Today, when you feel stressed, discouraged, lonely, or tempted to eat when you aren't physically hungry, remember where your help comes from. Pause. Pray. Reach out to someone if you need support. Then focus on the next right choice rather than worrying about the whole day.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for being my refuge and strength. When I feel weak or tempted today, help me turn to You instead of food. Give me the wisdom and strength to follow my food and action plans and make choices that honor You and care for the body You have given me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
