Unveiling Hidden Truths About Overeating...

We have found that overeating is often tied to life's difficulties.

One of the hardest struggles? Relationships. Frustrations in this area can lead to stress, and for many of us, stress leads to overeating.

I realized that I was making things harder for myself by saying things that created unnecessary conflict.

My mom used to say, "Julie, THINK before you speak!" At the time, I didn’t fully understand it—or see the need for it.

But as I’ve grown (and hopefully gained some wisdom!), I’ve seen how valuable this principle is.

Relationships improve when we learn to hold our tongue.

That doesn’t mean we let people walk all over us, but using the THINK acronym can help us communicate more wisely:

T - True: Is it actually true, not just your perception?

H - Helpful: Even if it’s true, is it helpful to say?

I - Important: Does this really need to be said?

N - Necessary: Is it essential, or can it be let go?

K - Kind: Will it build others up rather than tear them down?

Practicing THINK in conversations can reduce stress, improve relationships, and give us one less reason to turn to food for comfort.

Have you found this to be true in your own life?
