When You’ve Had a Hard Week

Some weeks in recovery go really well.
You follow your food plan. You make choices you feel good about. You feel close to God and encouraged by your progress.
And then there are the other weeks. 😊
Maybe you ate something you hadn't planned. Maybe you went back for more when you said you wouldn't. Maybe stress got the better of you and you found yourself turning to food again.
It's easy in those moments to think, “Here I go again.”
But one difficult day—or even one difficult week or weeks—doesn't have to become a reason to give up.
Recovery isn't about proving to God that we can finally get everything right. It's about continuing to turn toward Him, even when we haven't.
I love the reminder in Lamentations:
“Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.”
— Lamentations 3:22–23 (NIV)
Whatever this week looked like, you don't have to wait until Monday to “start over.”
Today is a new day.
