Your Story Can Change a Life

By the time we get to Step 12, we’ve likely had some healing and success already. Even if we feel like our story isn’t good enough, we can share our successes – big or small – with others.
"Telling your story is about you, not them. Even this can be tricky with a person who is very defensive. It may be better to wait for them to ask you about your conversion. Your story can also be part of a conversation when you decline certain foods and eating behaviors… A simple answer of, 'I don’t eat that' or jokingly, 'I’ve had my lifetime quota already,' usually intrigues the person’s interest and curiosity and offers a perfect opportunity to tell your story of weight loss and healing." — 12 Steps to Recovery from Overeating, by Julie Kleinhans
When we share what God has done in our lives, we plant seeds of hope in others. You never know who might be watching, wondering, and longing for the same freedom you’ve found.
If you’ve experienced victory over overeating — even in small steps — your story matters. It can inspire someone else to take their first step toward recovery.
📖 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
