If you’ve ever felt like your eating is out of control… like no matter how hard you try, you keep going back to the same patterns… you’re not alone.
Step 2 is where things begin to shift.
It’s where we stop relying only on ourselves—and start believing that God can actually help us.
From my book 12 Steps to Recovery from Overeating:
“As Christians, we already have a faith in the God of the Bible, but do you believe that he can help us recover from the disorder of compulsive overeating?”
That question matters.
Because many of us believe in God… but we’re not sure He wants to be involved in our eating.
Or maybe we’ve prayed before and nothing seemed to change.
But Step 2 reminds us:
God is not distant from this struggle.
He sees it.
He cares about it.
And He is able to help.
Not just spiritually—but in the everyday moments when cravings hit and emotions rise.
You don’t have to figure this out on your own anymore.
“So do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and help you.” – Isaiah 41:10
The thing to remember here is…
Recovery doesn’t start with trying harder.
It starts with believing that God can do what we can’t.
If you want to go deeper into this step and the full recovery process, my book 12 Steps to Recovery from Overeating walks you through it step by step.
