Sunday Encouragement — Romans 12:1–2

Bible, teacup, and lamp on a wooden table. Text reads "Psalm 119:105 'Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.'" Warm lighting.

Romans 12:1–2 “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

I love this passage so much.

It reminds me that taking care of my body isn’t just about me—

not about vanity, not about perfection, and not even only about health.

It is an act of spiritual worship.

When we choose foods that nourish us…

When we steward our bodies with care…

When we pause and invite God into our decisions…

We are honoring the One who created us.

This kind of transformation doesn’t come from willpower.

It comes from renewing our minds—turning away from the world’s messages about food, body image, and quick fixes, and turning our hearts toward God’s truth, His Word, and His will.

Here’s a simple prayer for today:

Dear Lord, Help us remember that our bodies are Your holy temple. Give us the desire and the strength to honor You in the choices we make. Renew our minds through Your Word, and guide us into what is good, acceptable, and perfect in Your sight. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
