Traveling and Staying Abstinent

As travel season begins, I have what I think is the most important recommendation: Don't Let "Just One" Derail Your Recovery

When you’re traveling or visiting friends, you may hear things like:

“Come on, just have one. You’re on vacation!”

But let’s be honest — for many of us, binge foods aren’t harmless indulgences. They’re toxic to our recovery. Even just one can reignite cravings, derail abstinence, and undo the progress we’ve worked so hard for.

You wouldn’t eat peanuts to please someone if you had a life-threatening allergy, right? Our binge foods are no different. They may not send us to the hospital — but they can send us into relapse.

Don’t let people-pleasing or momentary cravings cost you long-term freedom.

📖 Proverbs 25:28 – “A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.”

📖 Proverbs 29:25 – “The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.”

✨ Staying connected makes a huge difference — especially while traveling. Don’t go it alone! Stay in touch with your support group, and if you’re looking for extra encouragement, prayer, and accountability, join our free Christian Overeaters Support Group on Facebook. We’d love to walk with you on this journey. You can request to join us here: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/cwpvtRogVi6irLf3/  💛
