Carb Cravings Paused

Sometimes carb cravings can feel almost impossible to ignore — especially at night.
You tell yourself you’re done eating…
and suddenly all you can think about is something crunchy, sweet, or comforting.
Many people assume this means they just don’t have enough willpower. But cravings can come from so many different things:
fatigue
stress
loneliness
emotional overwhelm
or sometimes simply not eating enough during the day.
One thing that has helped me personally is learning to pause before reacting.
Instead of immediately giving in to the craving, try waiting 10–15 minutes and asking yourself:
“Is this really hunger… or is it something else?”
That small pause can change a lot.
Sometimes you realize you’re actually tired, stressed, or emotionally drained — not physically hungry at all.
And even when cravings feel strong, they do not have to control us.
If nighttime cravings are something you struggle with, I also created a free guide called ‘How to Say No to Extra Food’ to help you pause before eating automatically and make more intentional choices.
